  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying the program I am on, as everyone in work are happy to support me in my day to day work. There are also a lot of things to do outside of work such as regular team outings, events organized by working groups in Group Finance and rounder's as well as many other activities you can get involved in

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As we were first apprentices in Group Finance, I personally think it lacked a proper structure as when I first joined the team - Robotics I felt that I was not given enough work and training. However, at the moment in my new team there is a proper structure as I had good training and a lot of work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been very supportive both of me and the program. If there are any personal issues there are people who can support us. Moreover, UBS supports us with skills we might want to develop by financing courses we can attend. Moreover, UBS has UBS University, an online platform where you can take different courses.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider is Kaplan Financial. They have really good study materials which you can use to teach yourself all the knowledge required to pass exams. Teaching quality was also good, however, we would finish 1 book in just 2-3 hours which wasn't enough time for us to process all the information being taught.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Training we have been receiving through our training provider has been helpful in my day to day role, as we were taught a lot of excel functions that are widely used in work. Moreover, learning how accruals and reversals work has been helpful as in my current role I look at monthly cost movements.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are a lot of extra curricular activities you can get involved in. In Group Finance we have dedicated working groups that are in place to organize events, get the teams together and create more friendly working environment. There are workings groups for education, volunteering, communications which are sponsored by senior people in the organization.

In addition, UBS offers safe and friendly working environment for all of its employees around the world.

  • I would suggest to have as many practice interviews as possible before your actual interview.
