  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day-to-day basis, I have to come into work on time and get my assigned tasks done. No day in the office is the same. One day I could be in the office creating reports for projects, and the next day I could be inspecting fancy buildings all over the country, or visiting a networking event for the industry.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have developed my ability to socialise and network with people. This industry is very much focused on communication skills and building your connections. I have also learnt how to manage my time, organise my workload and work under pressure when I have a tight work deadline. I feel like it has made me much more independent and confident.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I like the programme. It is a lot of hard work managing my time between university work and the workplace, while also having a social life. However, in the long-run, it is all going to be worth it as I have the advantage of benefitting from learning both theory and practical knowledge from university and the Cushman & Wakefield.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe the programme is quite organised and structured. All the rules are made known at the beginning of the scheme in the contract and there are little to no complications regarding the organisation of the programme. It seems like everything has been planned out perfectly and very accurately. I like it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I believe the training provider tries their best to help us and resolve any issues quickly and efficiently. We have reviews to check our performance and our attendance every few months. They make sure that we are managing things well enough to perform to our best ability and they monitor our progress.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe it gives me a deeper understanding of Valuation and Zoning. As I am also doing this daily in my job, this helps me a lot because it gives me background knowledge as to where all the formulas and calculations come from. Additionally, it also makes me feel more confident and independant in myself as a person.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes! There are plenty of activities like such. There are clubs and societies that focus on Healthy Living, Diversity, the Future of Property etc. This provides an opportunity for everyone to socialise and network on common hobbies and interests other than our love for the property industry. It's great fun!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cushman & Wakefield to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would say yes! This is because Cushman and Wakefield is a very relaxed environment and the people are so friendly. It is a great company for those who are afraid of being thrown into the deep end. Although the company is incredibly reputable and is considered as one of the best commercial property development firms in the world, it is a beautiful place to find yourself and establish a career in the property industry.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cushman & Wakefield?
  • When applying to Cushman & Wakefield, I would advice people to be themselves! Your personality and your character traits will sell you more. Get as much work experience as you possibly can because that will come in handy when it comes to answering some technical questions. But most importantly, be you! Make sure you're able to work well in a team and keep smiling.
