  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day role is start at 7am, have a team meeting in the morning to discuss what jobs are in and allocate members of the team to specific job roles. once we have a job we collect all relevant information needed for the job (drawings etc) and then we would go out and measure the specific piece needed. Once we have measured we would write a report up and send to all relevant personnel.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my work as it is rare that you get to see the product we make and deliver, every day there is something new to look at and learn about and this is something I wanted when I came into the business. So I do enjoy the role I am in and look forward to developing further.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Within our job role we have extra curricular activities called stretch assignments. These stretch assignments give us an insight into different departments within the business such as into project management and finance etc. Most stretch assignments give you this insight as you have to plan the event and sort out all the equipment and resource needed.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend BAE as it is a business that cares about its employees and also has many incentives which benefit you career wise and also benefits you financially. they also will sponsor you to do further education such as degrees etc. if the company feel that it will benefit you and benefit the business you having the degree.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Make sure you know the job role you are going into by speaking to people who work here or by doing some research on the potential role you are looking to go into. Also don't just think that if you apply for quality for example and get in then you are stuck there. On our scheme they usually let you do small placements within the business to other departments to gain further rounded knowledge of the business.
