  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • With this company, we were able to choose what we wanted to do that day. We can choose what sector if the company we were interested in and we'd be able to go over and ask to shadow them and find if we wanted to further our knowledge in this area which helped us to understand whether or not we would want to go into this sector in our career or not.

  • I have really enjoyed my time here. Sometimes, I feel as though the work that I have to do is difficult and challenging due to the constantly changing enviroment but rewarding at the edn when you're thanked and supported for your work which is a really ncie touch that this specific company does. The team that I work indaily that has been my first team is very supportive and create a warm and friendly working environment.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Active Tameside?
  • there are awards given out internally often but the most recognition you recieve is from your teams they really know when you have gone above and beyond or have put that extra in and praise you for it. Your opinion is very important, you often sit down with you manager for a 1-2-1 to help focus your development and to also quickly get on top of any isuses you may have. i have a high responsibility role and so it is important for me to get my point of view across if i want something changed, because my role is very analytical i have alot of indepth knowledge which is important for others to use and so want my opinion.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • there is a good structure in place and a framework for you to work against but there is also a flexibility aspex which is involved. after the induction you take some control over your training, so if there is something that you feel you didnt understand the first time or something you want to learn about you can get invovled and plan it into your schedule, this has been really useful to replan another training session with a collegue as there where bits you missed or you want greater detail. alot of our training is on the job and you quickly get to know the ins and outs of your role, the scheme has also allowed me to move to other departments or short secondments and they have and structures in place for me to learn the role they play and how that effects me in mine.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • There is a dedicated system within deloitte. It starts with a mentor who is the first contact for any informal questions. They feed back any informal feedback that has been passed to them. You also have an appraiser that assesses performance yearly and grades you. This is supported by feedback form the people you work with, both upwards and downwards. There is also dedicated learning managers that make sure youre on the right course and communicate with the external learning providers to check on performance and progression. This is then fed back internally.

  • I am still living at home so I can save almos half my monthly pay and still have loads left to have fun with. fairly considerable amount above the national minimum wage for apprentices, although it is certainly not enough to sustain independent living. There is a contractual raise written into the contract of £500 every 6 months over the course of the apprenticeship and you are also automatically enrolled into the Sharing in Success bonus program, offering up to 7% of annual salary as bonuses.

  • There are a few events organised and paid for by the company for company activities and events for us to bond and emet people that aren't necessarily in our sector of the company so that we can have more intereactions and friends at work and that is something they healthily encourage which is a ncie touch so that you're not just corenered and centralised by the only friends in your sole part of the office.
