  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the rating team where I perform valuation surveys dealing with appeals. would visit a clients property,take measurements, drawings, produce a report to the VOA if I a reduction in Business rates is liable and then a write a savings report to the client once succesful.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt so many soft skills such as public speaking acrosss various offices and senior members, being able to work as a team, negotiate & communciate with various colleagues in leading various projects and intiatatives within the firm. My technical knowledge has grown with the support and guidance recieved.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme, the support and guidance from colleagues, line managers and senior members has been incredible and they are always on hand to help. I have led the Ethncity and Culuture diversity initative in birmingham, hosting culutral events and creating an environment for acceptance and inclusion.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Cushman & Wakefield?
  • I feel very valued by the company and feel to able to contribute to the bussiness with my ideas and suggestions. I was awarded Employee of the Year as well as nominated for the asian apprenticeship Awards by the company for the efforts and transformation seen.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The scheme is well structured and clear direction on what is expected to be achieved at the end of the scheme and understanding of the progression after completion.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our university provider ensure we have quarterly meetings including our line managers to discuss progress on Work, University and the APC process and provide relevant support. The training provider ensure we complete and submit a diary log of our learning and arrange bi anuual APC workshops.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Colleagues and senior members are always on hand to provide advice and suggestions, the firm organised CPD seminar events to broaden our knowledge as well as quarterly apprentice meetings to share best practice.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is fairly reasonable as the company is covering our university and structured training expenses.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I have led an external networking initative in Birmingham to promote free Networking and CPD events for young professionals. There are mix social drinks and formal evens to meet other profesisonals as well as office sports teams to join. There are plenty of office activites to contribute in.

  • 9. Would you recommend Cushman & Wakefield to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A great fun environment where colleagues are supportive, a structured apprenticehip programme and a straight direction with coaching and mentoring to broaden understanding and assist in qaulifying as a chartered surveyor. There are plenty of socials events to get stuck in and there is never a dull day in surveying.

  • - Cushman love individuals who are passionate and being their 100% themselves so come to our company as the real you. - Driven and determined - Fun, bubbly and approachable - Teamplayer - Willing to learn - Able to adapt in challenging circumstances - Tenancious and passionate about property - Like to get involved in additional activities.
