I have improved skill in C#, Perl and server technology
The apprenticeship has been incredibly enjoyable thus far. It is the perfect opportunity to learn incredibly valuable skills and create networks to help you on your career path.
Fujitsu are always willing to provide the training necessary to prepare for a new role or help you with your current role. There are always people on hand to reach out to if any help is required.
The salary currently is OK - it is far above the minimum wage set for apprentices. The biggest problem however is not the salary while you are an apprentice; it's the salary detailed in the contract - £16,500 - after the two-year course of study is complete. Whether this is open to negotiation or not I am not sure. I am incredibly happy and proud to be employed by a company such as Fujitsu, however I feel that after proving your worth over the course of two years this is disappointing; especially given the career opportunities your studies and work experience will make available to you.
There are always Corporate Social Responsibility events taking place, as well as the regular work done with our official charity - Shelter.
