  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently an apprentice technician and am currently moving around the company doing different tasks each day so I can see what sort of job I want to go into once I finish my apprenticeship this is good as it allows me to get a great understanding in what the company does to help the world advance

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to do many things that are vital in day to day work like communication skills this is good as it allows me to have confidence when talking to the different people that I meet each day. it is also helpful as it gives me more contacts around the company

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship and can not wait to get into work and know what in doing each day. I feel like this is good for me as it allows me to have a positive attitude towards work which also helps me develop as a worker at the company.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Teledyne/E2V?
  • I feel like I am valued and have already been put In charge of projects which involve large quantity profits. by them doing this it makes you feel confident in yourself as you know that the employer has confidence in you to deliver the task that you are doing on time and to a high standard

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the programme that I am doing with the company is well organised as they know where I am going before my placement even starts. this is arranged with my manager who I frequently see and give and receive feedback from. By having this sort of support it allows me to develop as a skilled worker

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive quite a lot of support from my training provider. This is good as it allows me to develop my own setoff unique skills. it is also good for me as when my manager started work he began as an apprentice as well so he knows the entire process that I am going through.

  • I receive a good amount of support from my employer.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I personally feel that my salary is a competitive wage to other apprentiships that are going on in the immediate area. but on the other hand I do feel like there could be an increase as there are some apprentiships that are paying a lot more for the type of work that I am currently doing.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • yes there are many opportunities outside of the work that I am. all the apprentices have a really close relationships with each other here at Teledyne e2v and there is a good support group internally as we are all going through the same process.This is good as it makes you feel better about yourself.

  • 9. Would you recommend Teledyne/E2V to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Yes because there is a great deal of opportunities here at Teledyne e2v. another reason I would recommend the company is there is a sense of continuous improvement which is clear when you come to work here. I feel that this Is a great attitude to have as a worker in engineering.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Teledyne/E2V?
  • stay calm and don't get flustered. Everyone has been in the position that you are now so they will understand and don't worry if you make a mistake. mistakes are how we learn and improve so these are good just make sure that you understand why what you have done is wrong and make it clear how you will perform better to avoid the same outcome.
