  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised yet due to the machinists moving to a know awarding body there was a slow start to the year for us but we are back on track and learning a lot. There is plenty support here if needed and the trade union will support you in anything that seems like a problem for you.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The tutors supply you with a lot of support if you are stuck they'll do their best to guide you through and wont stop until you fully understand the task in hand. You can go to any of the trainers with anything even if its not to do with work for support and someone to talk to with complete discretion.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive plenty of support from BAE in any area be it in work or out they are here to look after their employees physically and mentally and there are regular check in reviews to see how you are doing and have their own medical building to do health checks whenever you want one under complete discretion and have measures in place to prevent discrimination occurring.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is double what most apprenticeships pay and can meet your costs yet I struggle as I have got into the habit of spending too much, but the pay is more than suitable for a younger apprentice that doesn't have a house and car and such to pay for.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are hundreds of events or activities that you can get involved with be it the company football competitions or the community giveback scheme. This is where certain groups in the year are assigned to certain and we go and help them out for a week or two improving the area and making it a better place.
