1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

10/10

My role on a day to day basis at Burton Power (car parts and accessories shop) was to manage third party supplies and oversaw stock maintenance. Furthermore I was responsible for handling invoice logging information and acted mas a middle man between client and the company itself.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

10/10

I developed the skills of speaking to the public which increased my confidence and learning skills in stock control. Understanding stock control allowed me to pitch new ideas to make the stock control more efficient.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

10/10

I enjoyed the programme with my full extent as the team were extremely friendly and gave me advice at any time. I was also given the opportunity to work at Burton power in the future which I did (during school holidays).

4. How valued do you feel by Burton Power?

10/10

I felt appreciation from everyone as the team recognized the work that I was putting in and taking the initiative when possible. I also felt appreciated from departments from one department to another.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

10/10

Burton Power is well organised, the induction was clear and the training was mainly remembering codes and where they were placed. I was given simple tasks to begin with and then being delegated more responsible jobs as i progressed in the company.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

10/10

I received an overwhelming amount of support from my training provider as they showed me what the best course of action was when there problems arisen from the daily tasks at hand.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

8/10

I received some support from the employer but the employer was working in a different department so the support was more on the hiring side of things so there was a limit to what support was given to me. Though

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

10/10

As this was a work experience placement, the location was within walking distance so there were no travel costs. Daily costs was mainly food for lunch and a vending machine for sodas at a cheap price. The salary itself was at minimum wage (at the time).

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

10/10

I would say more opportunities in the retail industry rather than the cars/mechanics side for my role as my tasks mainly focused on stock control and handling invoice logging information.

9. Would you recommend Burton Power to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

This is a great experience if they are looking for a first job basis. The team at Burton Power will help you if they can see that you're putting in the effort.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Burton Power?

Be confident and show that you are willing to learn, essentially be "hungry" for the job. Furthermore, try to take the initiative where possible (without affecting anyone else)
