I create 3D models for BIM coordination and produce drawings which are sent to all design team members and building sites for information. I work in the structural sector of engineering.
I have learned to produce drawings to a high information level to be as helpful to people on site as they can be. I have also developed my communication skills both in person casually and when being proffesional.
I have really enjoyed my apprenticeship, both the time in college learning and the time in work developing the skills for the job. I have liked that I will finish my apprenticeship with the skills to get a job straight away and not have any student debt.
I feel very valued within my work place both personally and perfessionally. I have a good balance of a work life ratio. I also have a good balance of work which I am relied on to do myself and work which I need assistance which helps to to develop.
My apprenticeship was very well organised through a specialised company and coordination throughout all aspects of my work and learning.
I recive as much or as little support as to which I need, during the first year of my apprenticeship I received a lot more support as I was still learning but now I am more self sufficient in my job.
At this point in my apprenticeship I am pretty relied on to be self sustaining but if I need assistance there is a senior member of my team on hand to help.
My salary is far high than I thought I could earn being an apprentice and covers all my needs comfortably.
Yeah, I have multiple chances out with work to both develop me as a person and my skills which I use day to day.
Yes
Apprenticeships are an amazing way to gain experience, cover the knowledge through college/uni and also to get paid to do so.
Just be yourself and try to push yourself to achieve and learn as much as you can. Anybody going through an apprenticeship has the best start to their career and can ealily go far.
