  • My job day to day has a variety of different things which could happen over many sites so everyday can be different, I maintain and look after the electricity transmission system so I could be working on compressors or things such as circuit breakers or even isolators. • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme seems to be very organised, we have been given a schedule way in advanced so we can book holidays and days off, but also when we turn up to a course then I know that the course will be well organised, with good content with no time wasted which makes you work efficiently too

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have been luckily enough to not ever need any support from my training provider, there was one stage where I thought I could have been struggling with some of the maths but I did well and got a distinction with the help of my tutors but it was nice to know the support was there.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary plus all the benefits is amazing compared to many other apprenticeships. It is way above the wage for a normal apprenticeship which makes you work harder and improves morale, also in addition to the salary there are many benefits such as the employee benefits where you can pay for items such as laptops and ipads monthly I also have dental insurance.

  • There are many opportunities outside of work which you can take part in which are things such as the sports and social where you take a small sum out of your monthly wage and it goes into a kitty where it will be saved and when you want to do an activity such as a day out at the horse races then you can use these funds.
