I am an associate at the Body in White pilot operations land for jaguar land rover. I work on building the body shells for JLR, using rivet guns and spot welding guns o produce a body in white. I am responsible for myself and those working around me as the workplace can be very busy and I need to ensure the safety of others. My jobs range from working on panel modifications to putting together sub assembles to working in a framer putting the car together.
I have learnt many new skills from welding, fabrication, how to use tools properly and effectively. I have learnt about mechanical principles, systems, materials and many other subjects at college which aid my day to day work within plant.
I love working within a team and taking a lead role at times, taking on added responsibility and joining up with the safety team looking to improve things.
I feel extremely valued by the staff and management team as they see me as the future and invest their time and effort into helping me.
The programme is structured well. The induction has been good but could be improved with more interactions with some of the equipment and maybe learning programmes. Support is on hand whenever it is needed. My programme has been well organised from the beginning.
I receive regular training and support from my provider and lots of guidance throughout the course. They have a positive and supportive attitude which helps me complete tasks and learning.
I receive regular check ups and support, always asking if any help is needed. My management team are aware of my tasks and check to see if i need any help or guidance.
My package is extremely fair and I feel it covers my costs and leaves me enough to sav/spend.
The company runs a whole host of events. Last year I used my Employee learning scheme to learn to ski. This year I am going to learn sea kayaking. I also got involved in the Jaguar Land Rover Challenge in Wales which was team building task aimed at covering a large area of walking and participating in events at different points.
Yes
Its a company I am proud to work for and I believe the support i'll receive is the best out there. I feel valued and Hopefully can go on to do my degree once I finish the apprenticeship.
I would advise anyone applying to be their self in the application and be honest. This is a company which wants its employees to believe in the products and the job. I would say to try and be confident i the assessment centre and look to make a good impression.
