Im happy with my apprenticeship, I am training to become a powertrain technician. I will be training for 4 years. I enjoy my training and learning something new everyday. This is because I am at the forefront of automotive technology. I am looking forward to gaining more experience and training and increase my responsibility as i rise through the company.
I have learnt new skills within engine build and automotive technologies. As well as this I have gained experience in electrical wiring and fault finding and increased my previous knowledge further.
I enjoy my time at work. I enjoy working with my colleagues and tutors to build relationships and working groups that work well together. My experience is good and the environment is relaxed.
At the moment I feel appreciated by jaguar landrover. They check in with me in meetings and make sure that my needs are met. The extra activities I have been asked to do for example PR makes me feel appreciated
Normally it is organised well. The process flows well and it is easy to come to work. Although sometimes it seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing and some confusion is caused between JLR and the college.
I receive as much support as I need when at work. I have online help as well as tutor help and learning resources. They allow us to visit and speak to them when necessary and give extra help if required.
Our employer gives us help where required. we can contact them at any time and they are constantly visible around college. They also converse and interact with lessons where possible.
Not very well at the moment as I have came from another job with a higher wage. The money will increase over time the higher I climb, but as an apprentice the wage is quite good.
If I wanted to there are often events and meets available to us as a company. We have many discounts for activities and gyms. As well as this we get priority on museums and events. It gives opportunity.
Yes
The job gives great learning and job opportunities. There is a chance for company benefits and a constant changing work environment. The work is constantly changing the wage is good and the company is one of the best in the world.
They should try their hardest to excel in the tests and be confident within the interviews. They should not be embarrassed to speak up and voice their opinion and should be proud if they can achieve a job from the process.
