I am an office design apprentice, which deals with all HMRC Sites. We hold all the office designs for all HMRC sites. We create these designs based on requirements from the office, this could be internal moves in the office, opening a new building or closure a site where we vacate the site of all kit belonging to HMRC. We liaise with Regional delivery managers in the completion of our office designs. We deal with requests from HMRC to add/ remove kit from government site, we update our designs with these details.
I currently go to college one day a week. I have completed CISCO IT Essentials V4.1. I am now studying CCNA 1 and I will progress onto CCNA 2 before the end of my apprenticeship. Both these CCNA courses are very helpful in my job role as we deal with networks on a daily basis.
The apprenticeship scheme allows you to progress in your role as an apprentice and get involved in the wider Fujtisu and not just your job role. I am enjoying getting involved with the projects that my team are undertaking and this will benefit me in the future if I get offered a job at the end of my apprenticeship in my team.
The apprenticeship scheme is highly regarded in Fujitsu as apprentices are a big part of Fujitsu's future and the company want to invest time and money into the future of the company.
The Apprenticeship programme is well structured as it allows you get on the job training 4 days a week and a day at college to help you gain the knowledge of networks in completing CCNA.
At College we can get support from our lecturer whether this be in class or via email outside college hours. If we don't understand an area of our course we go to our lecturer for help and guidance.
Support is in place from Fujtisu whether this is being part of a mentorship scheme if we need guidance. In our team, we have a buddy system set up and this allows us to ask our buddy if we have any queries regarding any projects we have undertaken.
The only cost to me is travel to work, I live quite local to the office anyway
The apprenticeship scheme play a big part in the local community by raising money for charities and setting up local schemes in the local area. Fujitsu itself support the charity shelter and we undertake different charity events to support this charity.
Yes
Apprentices are highly valued in Fujitsu as apprentices are regarded as the future of Fujitsu and they look after their employees well.
Research into the company and what it does as that will benefit you in the interview process. Gain experience in the area that you would like to work in the future, this could be done through a work based placement (Work Experience) which can be set up with the company and this will help you to see if Fujitsu is the right company for you.
