Day to to day health and welfare of vulnerable adults. Ensuring all aspects of health and safety are carried out at all times. Ensure confidentiality is kept at all times . Work within a team or by myself to ensure all tasks are carried out correctly . Complete all relevant paperwork relating to the day to day running of the operation.
I have learnt many new skills during my time at the workplace including training courses on line , at college and distance learning courses. My skills are developed on a day to day basis in the workplace learning from colleagues and other healthcare professionals. My training is checked on a regular basis by my line manager and NVQ assessor .
I enjoy learning new skills and I feel that it is part of my job contract to develop my skills not only to benefit me but also the other residents and staff in the workplace. It makes the job enjoyable learning new skills and I like to continuously improve my development for my benefit and that of others .
I feel valued in the workplace most of the time but I think at sometime we all can feel under valued , this may be due to workload or maybe we are just feeling on the day. I feel valued by the organisation I work for because of their investment in my training and development.
The programme I am taking part in is very well organised and structured . Meeting and telephone calls are all well planned in advance with times to suit all parties. Any resources requested are provided without any delay. All my tasks are planned and a timetable is followed . I have no complaints about the structure of the plan .
I am fully supported by my training provider. As in the question above all request for resources are provided without delay. My assessor is very knowledgeable in her line of work and also fully supportive of my needs to develop my skills in the workplace . The training provider has provided all the internet backing and workbooks needed for me to complete the training .
I receive support and encouragement from my employer to take part in my NVQ level 3 but I do feel that meetings with my assessor in the workplace should be in works time and not my own as I have to take unpaid leave or use my days off to come in for meetings . The end goal is for the benefit of all parties and give and take should be taken by all concerned .
My salary does not meet my living costs very well . I earn minimum wage for a 34 hour week . This barely covers my daily living costs although I am lucky in respect that I do not need to pay for public transport to travel to work due to me living close to the workplace. I do acknowledge the fact that health and social care do not pay well and I did realise this when I applied for the job but I do enjoy the work .
At the workplace we take part in many voluntary events raising money for the home and dementia awareness . We are well known in the community for the work that we do and local people and resident families take part in our initiatives. Out of work the staff meet on a regular basis for recreational and social events .
Yes
This is a very vague question and needs to be reworded . Would I recommend to a friend well if you mean the training programme the answer would be yes as I have found it enjoyable and a great way to develop my skills not only in the workplace but for advancement in the future . I have recommended the training and encouraged the training to other people in the workplace.
I would advise people to look at the benefits of the training and how it would help them in their job role and in the opportunity of getting employment in the future. I would advise people to stick to the programme once they have started it as even though at times it is hard work you do gain a lot from it . Learning and knowledge is there for all of us and I have found this programme a very enjoyable experience even though it was very time consuming .
