DBA. Providing support to 20+ contracts using both SQL and Oracle. Monitoring support stack queries, performing routine maintenance jobs, restoring/backing up databases.
I have learnt how to use SQL and Oracle. I also have learnt Unix skills and several server support software such as vSphere.
I enjoy it immensely as it mixes education with real work experience. I have been exposed to several technologies and I am gaining experience with some high prestige contracts.
I feel relatively valued by Fujitsu. I am able to do 90% of the work that my peers do and so I feel like I am contributing.
It is well structured on the education side but could be better. The exams taken should all contribute to the NVQ mark requirement but they don't. This essentially means you are doing some exams for nothing unless you are using it in the workplace.
Good support. The teachers are knowledgeable and easy to get on with.
Decent support. There could be more of a training structure within work
Decent salary for apprentice. Poor salary for full time staff compared to competitors.
There are some CSR initiatives but there is rarely any work related activities within teams.
Yes
It is a good place to get a solid grounding of technical experience.
It was a simple interview process. Have a decent knowledge of IT before applying.
