  • I work in Defence Services so it is working with different Air forces around the world. i have worked in different sections such as Maintainance and Overhaul, Ground Support Equipment, Technical Publications and Repair.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have developed many skills such as confidence and team work. i have/will be gaining qualifications such as a foundation degree in mechanical engineering and also a level 4 NVQ.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working with other people while on placements, they have always been friendly and keen to help. the apprenticeship is very full on and involves hard work both in the office and at home.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Rolls-Royce?
  • most of the time i feel valued. on placements i have been given important tasks that will make a difference to the company, rather than pointless tasks.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The NVQ side is well structured. however, the foundation degree has been poorly run by the college we attend which hasmade things alot harder.

  • my Apprentice Development Leader is very helpful adn will always try and sort out any issues you may have.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • rent in bristol is very expensive. the pay is enough to get by but it is hard to save money each month.

  • rolls-royce are often at air shows and events which we can volunteer for. this is a very rewarding part of the job.

  • Yes

  • it allows you to learn in a world leading company and it also gives you the oppurtunity to get a degree.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
  • do your research before the interview day and try and make yourself stand out from everyone else there. bring along things to talk about.
