Site Services and facilities, I am training in different aspects of engineering to be able to maintain different parts of any factory that I will be sent to. My responsibilities are to ensure that all my work is done in a timely manor to a very high standard to reduce the the chance of any future faults appearing.
My training at college has helped me develop skills in different areas in which I was at first unsure of. Now I understand a lot more mechanical and electrical maintenance techniques.
I enjoy the fact that I will be working in a team to maintain a site, putting my education to use to help the company run as efficiently as possible while still continuing my education.
I have had constant communication with Jaguar Land Rover throughout my apprenticeship with company updates, feedback from how my learning is progressing and helping to work through college as effectively as possible.
The programme structure is set out effectively with constant support from work based learning managers, extra tutor lessons if needed to help understand work that may be unclear at first and time spent with colleges to work through any problems as a group.
Tutors at college have always been helpful, they have provided extra lessons to help catch up with work if needed. They have never hesitated to support you with work when asked.
Support is constant through the apprenticeship from work based learning managers who help with any issues both in and out of college. I find this very helpful throughout my time in education.
I can live comfortably on the salary I am earning, I have never had a week where I have struggled to pay bills. Travel costs have never really been an issue as car sharing is
From studying maintenance based courses, the work I have been doing has been very helpful outside of work from maintaining my vehicle to fixing problems around the house. There have not been many opportunities to attend any company events as a first year apprentice.
