Go to college monday to friday, wednesday thursday and friday is workshop days and monday tuesday is HE days where we learn subjects like maths and materials. Workshop we do things like CNC
I have learnt the ability to look at different situations and approach them with an engineering mind set as well as learning new skills like maths an learning new practical skills such as using a file.
I enjoy the program a lot because i can learn new skills and get paid while doing it a lot, it had enabled me to do a lot of things inside and outside of work like book holidays and get a mortgage.
I feel as a part of Jaguar Land Rover a part of the employees and not treated any different to any other employee. I feel as though us apprentices are the future to the business and will contribute well to the success of the business
I feel as though the program could be organised a lot better although i do understand that there is a lot of intake for this year so there will be a lot of mistakes. The main thing is you dont really know what is happening until it is happening
I feel that i receive a lot of support from the teachers if you do not understand something and the staff are keen to help you out with anything. Peers are sometimes better to go to with smaller problems sometimes.
I have only been to plan twice however the managers and other employees are keen to help you out with any queries you have around plant. If you need anything then all you have to do is ask.
I think that the Pay is amazing, so far it has covered everything that i needed including, mortgage for a flat, 2 holidays and a car, All my friends that went to uni are quite jealous......
Theres not really any after work clubs or anything that you can join, there is however a gym at plant which we can join however i think you have to pay extra. In college we all have social events that we create ourselves though
Yes
The Pay is really really good and you get to learn loads of new things and get a really good recognised qualification at the end of it which you can take away for life. Plus you get a job at the end..
I would advise, be yourself in the interview and be on your best behaviour as these are the things they are looking for. Grades aren't everything, if you get on with everyone and make an effort to look at things from a different perspective then you will have a higher chance of getting in
