The role is an electrical engineer. You work in an academic and a professional environment. In college we are working towards the foundation degree as well as the necessary PEOs.
I have learnt many new skills in many different areas. This comes from doing a combination of the foundation degree and the PEOs. Although the PEOs are less in depth they still offer valuable skills needed in the job.
I enjoy the people who i work with, it is a nice environment. The company culture is strict with rules which to an extent is a good thing as it keeps the company professional.
When in the work place you feel valued as they will give you real work to do that contributes to the company. Although when at college it can feel like you are forgotten by the company.
Due to the new trailblazer course the course was a little bit unstable at the start, but as time went on the whole course got very organised. The support needed was given.
In college we receive enough support to make it through the course. All the relevant information is given to you need it. Outside of college work it can be hard to know who to go to with problems.
JLR will help with any queries with the course or problems that you face. My workplace manager is very helpful and will give me guidance if i ask for it. My mentor also supports me and will try to sort out problems quickly if i have any.
Our salary meets all of my costs. It is enough to cover my rent, car expenses and food and drink. There is also enough left over to have some social time and going out with friends.
There are many CSR events available to go to if we would like to. There are many perks that JLR offer meaning that you can get deals with other companies to follow interests.
Yes
I would recommend JLR to a friend as it can produce many opportunities within the company. Also it is a prestigious company and you feel a sense of pride working for them.
I would say to them to take each step of the application process seriously. Also to keep all paperwork in order and organised so not to miss a small detail that could potentially ruin the application.
