1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

8/10

I am a Coordinate Measuring Machine operator. I use the machine and the software to inspect parts that do not fit the cars properly. I also use first principle measurement to inspect parts where necessary.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

9/10

I have learnt first principle measurement, how to calibrate gauges and how to operate a CMM to inspect parts. I have also increase my knowledge in maths, material properties, business improvement techniques and other subjects.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

8/10

I enjoy the programme quite a lot. I come to work every morning not knowing what I'm going to be doing today. I enjoy the variety of work we get.

4. How valued do you feel by Jaguar Land Rover?

6/10

I feel quite valued by Jaguar Land Rover. My supervisor makes me feel valued, however I never see or hear from my manager. It would be nice to see him to find out how he thinks I am progressing.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

8/10

It is well organised and structured. The day release for college was well organised and there was adequate time to complete the college courses. I do think the the NVQ3 could have been started a bit earlier to give more time to complete it so there wasn't as much of a rush at the end.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

9/10

I receive a lot of support from my training provider. Every few weeks my training managers comes to see me to review how I'm getting on and to see how my NVQ is progressing.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

8/10

I receive a lot of support from my supervisor. He checks in with me regularly to see how I'm getting on and if I am struggling with anything. I would like more support from my manager though.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

9/10

It meets my costs very well. When I started this programme I did not know what my salary would be at this stage, and I am pleasantly surprised. No problem at all!

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

8/10

There is the employee learning scheme, where the company will pay for you to do an activity to better yourself and learn new skills. I have used this to learn how to snowboard.

9a. Would you recommend Jaguar Land Rover to a friend? *

Yes

9b. Why? *

It's a great place to work, there's always things to do. They want you to better yourself. You can apply for internal vacancy notices and get different jobs within the company. There is also the degree scheme where you can study and work at the same time, supported by the company.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Jaguar Land Rover? *

Sell yourself. Use the word count to make yourself shine. Sound big-headed, you need to to let them know all that you have achieved and all you think you can achieve. They want you to do well.
