  • My role is to safeguard and protect children in the setting while completing my level 2 to provide the children with multiple learning opportunities to further their development of the EYFS and fufill my responsibilities of a key workers. Every day I complete a risk assessment and planning for the children while observing them

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt level 3 paediatric first aid and have developed my creativity by being inspired by the children’s ideas progressing my patience skills and have learnt how to quickly pick up on any safeguarding issues and communication skills between myself, other colleagues and parents within the nursery setting to further their development.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme with aspiration training at my nursery setting as they provide me support and guidance whenever I may need and offer different resources and websites to help me on my assignments and to help me they regularly check in with me to make sure my well-being is also okay!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme with aspirations training in connection to my placement is very organised and structured as there is a set routine in place along with assignments to ensure I complete my assignments in orderly time to ensure I am on track of my level 2 so I can have support and a good opportunity at passing

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • In my setting I receive support from my employers when I need the support by allowing me to have time off when I am dealing with a problem and giving me study days and support with any help or questions I may have about assignments or personal problems I may face

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When I am working towards my qualifications I have received so much support from my training provider as when I have a new assignment she will send me multiple links and resources I can use to help me with my assignment and will clearly outline the questions so I understand and can answer them

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my training provider helping me to gain my level 2 has helped me perform better in my role as I am now aware of multiple different learning opportunities and factors in terms of childcare and how much information you need to gather to ensure the best outcomes for the children

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my work there is many extra curricular activities to get involved at since we are a city farm which offers a large volunteer programme to help with gardening and animals within the farm and there is also a large football pitch where there is football teams which can come in and play

  • Yes

  • I would recommend this to a friend as I have learned and gained so much information and learning experiences which I couldn’t of gained at a college or school setting and made so many new friends along my journey of learning while still being given the chance to gain my level 2


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Windmill hill city farm nursery?
  • To anyone else wanting to apply to my company I would say be confident and just have fun and don’t worry as you will have support and guidance and have better learning opportunities and experiences which will further you in life while working to support yourself and earning money and a qualification!
