We work to support UK defence. So you’ll understand why we can’t say much about what we do at AWE, or how we do it. But we can tell you that, as an apprentice, you’ll be part of a supportive community of people from all kinds of backgrounds, working together to keep our world safe and secure. You’ll grow your skills and experience with unparalleled training and development opportunities. And you’ll be incredibly proud of the part you play.
Control & Instrumentation Apprenticeship
We offer a wide range of different schemes for you to choose from. Choose our Radiation Protection (Health Physics) scheme, and you’ll learn how to use a range of specialist equipment to carry out radiological safety monitoring. You could be working with a wide variety of machines to produce high quality components on our Precision Machining scheme. Or you could be learning one of our critical trades on the Control & Instrumentation scheme, maintaining, installing and developing equipment used to control a variety of production processes. Whichever scheme you join, you ll be part of our award winning Skills Academy. You’ll use world-class technology and learn from industry-leading experts. And you’ll be part of an ambitious community of people, all paid to learn. If you successfully complete your apprenticeship, you’ll have gained a BTEC or City & Guilds technical knowledge qualification. You’ll also receive a nationally recognised Apprenticeship Completion Certificate, and deeds of completion from AWE.
Along with your salary you can look forward to regular pay reviews, and a permanent job at the end of the scheme. And, with structured and supported career progression, you’ll receive further education funding too. Other benefits include generous annual leave and a defined contribution pension.
