The Role

As an Apprentice Customer Service Advisor at our Aylestone Road Contact Centre, you could play your part. You’ll be joining a team of people from many different backgrounds who are united in living our values, doing the right thing for customers, keeping things simple and being extraordinary together.

You’ll be responsible for resolving a range of enquiries from our residential customers politely and efficiently – whether that involves sending out an engineer to deal with an emergency or arranging an annual appliance inspection. You’ll take ownership of each call, getting to the heart of the query, deciding the best course of action and providing the kind of service that earns our customers’ trust. At the same time, you’ll be promoting our groundbreaking products and services.

The Customer Service Apprenticeship is part of a UK wide scheme aimed at increasing your work based skills It is a 13 month Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship, which on successful completion, will allow you to become a Customer Service Advisor.

About You

Your journey will begin with 60 days of induction learning, before progressing to on the job learning throughout the 54 weeks programme. Support will be on hand through your apprenticeship journey and this will continue throughout your career with British Gas. There will be a requirement for you to do some study in your own time, and to be committed to completing the apprenticeship, to achieve the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification.
