About News UK
We’re on a mission to develop talent and are looking for four motivated individuals to join our team. Working with you across a range of roles, we aspire to develop you in all areas of technology, giving you first-hand insight into the full software development lifecycle. Our goal is to give you a good insight into technology, so that you can decide what route best suits your career.
Our department, Technology, is a team with people and product at our heart. Passionate and trusted experts creating industry leading solutions through attracting and developing the best talent. CIO of the Year (women in technology) 2016, Christina Scott, leads the department and has worked for many years transforming technology teams in media companies. We are looking for four Digital Innovation apprentices to join our team.
We’ll introduce you to:
Cyber security - The fast paced, ever changing world of cyber security - intrusions, awareness, response, analysis and monitoring. You'll be part of a small and agile team working with top line tooling and talent.
Analysis - To understand and meet the needs of our business; you will be researching and analysing business needs, helping to determine feasible solutions, documenting business and system processes, and writing user stories for our development teams. Business analysis offers a wide range of opportunities across technology.
Product management - Our digital products, websites, and apps are seen by millions of people every week. You will find out how we determine the direction we take them in by understanding what our users want, whilst ensuring that we are still able to meet business needs, and steering ourselves in terms of digital innovation.
Agile delivery - How we combine products, processes, and people to foster a user-centric and data-driven delivery environment, empowering us to overcome the challenges of keeping pace in the media industry. An agile transformation is taking place at News UK, and you will be able to see first-hand the journey we are undertaking.
Software Engineering - Building quality products using industry standard best practices you will learn what it takes to become a great Engineer. Whether you prefer trying front-end, back-end, or across the full stack - we do it all at News using cutting edge technologies.
