Data Technician (Technology & Data) Apprenticeship (Level 3)

How Long: 27 months
Where: London (there will also be some hybrid working involved)
Salary: £20,181

What you’ll need

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs A*-C or Grade 4 and above or equivalent including Maths, English and an IT/ Computer Science related subject
  • You must be 18 years of age before the start date to be eligible for this scheme.

Job overview

Our Tech & Data teams focus on what’s behind the millions of daily transactions on London’s transport network. In this apprenticeship, you will be working across a variety of roles within our Data team, on a number of exciting projects, such as: gaining insights from our WiFi data on the tube, to understanding the complexities of our road network and all the vast data that it has to offer. Moreover, you will be looking at new and exciting ways to make our data more accessible and bring the insight that it holds to life.

What will I be doing?

As an apprentice, your two-year development programme will be made up of up to 5 placement rotations. Our aim is to equip you with the range of skills and experience you need for your successful career. We also understand that everyone’s career is different, so every apprentice’s journey is unique.

Where can this career take me?

  • Upon successful completion of this scheme, you could roll-off into a number of roles such as a Developer, Visualisation Developer etc. This could lead to further career development opportunities, such as moving in to a senior role, or the technical lead for a discipline.
  • There will be further opportunities to upskill and becoming accredited in a number of areas that are relevant to the technology stack of the department.
