Aerospace Engineer Degree Apprenticeship

An exciting opportunity in our Platform Systems Division is the Degree Apprenticeship in Aerospace Engineering. You will be joining our team of highly skilled and dedicated employees based primarily at our Portsdown West site in Fareham.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are experts in their field, and gain insights that can only come from real world experience.
The team is responsible for providing independent technical advice to support our MOD customers as they procure strike (surface attack) weapons. The team also undertake and manage research work which ensures MOD will have a ‘fit for purpose’ strike weapons portfolio in the future.
Alongside studying you will learn the modelling and analysis techniques to enable you to deliver project work. This includes conducting system performance assessments of weapons using commercially available and bespoke in-house computer systems, characterising weapons from launch to impact and warhead effects in the terminal phase.
At the end of the scheme you will have had a good mix of academic and work-based learning experiences to ensure you develop the skills that will support you and the organisation in the future.

The Level 6 Aerospace Engineer apprenticeship (equivalent to a BSc Degree) will be a 4 year fixed term appointment.
Academic qualifications of 240 UCAS points (96 as per new tariff) or above at A-Level standard or equivalent, to include Maths plus at least one further STEM based subject such as Physics, ICT, Computing, Electronics.
Please note UCAS points awarded for AS Levels are not counted.
Plus 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C which must include Mathematics, English Language and Double Science or equivalent qualification.
Due to the reserved nature of this role, it is only open to UK Nationals who have lived in this country for more than five years. All posts require standard Security Clearance (SC).
