Apprentice Project Manager - London

An apprenticeship position is available in the London Office Project Management Team, with a specific focus on the City and West End commercial office refurbishment and fit-out sector. You would be working with a team of 14 qualified Project Managers as well as graduate and apprenticeship team members across both the City and West End offices. The team work closely with the Agency, Investment, Planning and Development teams at Savills and are based jointly across the city and west end – the candidate would spend time working in both offices.
Savills work for a range of Institutional clients, overseas investors and private wealth individuals. The London Office project Management team are forecast to bill in the order of £3.3m this year.
An opportunity exists for an apprentice to work directly alongside the co-heads of the team, Directors Benjamin Cottle and Richard Eyley. During the course of their apprenticeship we also believe it is important for the individual to maximise their experience by working with the wider team members on a range of refurbishment and fit-out projects typically between £2,000,000 and £40m in value.
The individual would be supported in developing an in-depth understanding of Project Management, including team formation, Procurement strategies, Contract Administration, Pitching and Commercial delivery of projects along with assisting team members with all aspects of their work, helping them to maintain their market leading position. We would recommend the Building Surveying APC pathway to support a broad understanding of consultancy services and a well rounded scope of experience.
Day to day work would include attending client and project team meetings, undertaking Contract Administration duties, assisting on pitches and presentations, preparation of both meeting agendas and minutes, monitoring project progress, preparing and updating project programmes, undertaking site inspections, dealing with issues as they arise on projects, contributing to PR strategies including social media – e.g. blogs, research, PR etc, assisting with preparation of client reports and identifying new business opportunities. The individuals day to day work will be accompanied by their university study which will provide the necessary academic knowledge to facilitate development over the duration of their apprenticeship.
The long term potential is for that individual to become a Project Manager themselves, having developed their skills working within a market leading team. The individual would be client and project team facing from day-1 and therefore communication and interpersonal skills are of paramount importance. An outgoing, sociable and presentable individual is required. They need to be proactive and confident.
