Insights & Data Level 4 Apprenticeship - Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets

Help us change our approach to data

Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) is the Group’s non-ring-fenced bank, established to support a stronger, more transparent banking industry for the benefit of customers and shareholders. We support a diverse range of customers and provide a broad range of products to help them achieve their financial goals. We're truly a bank within a bank.

We’re changing our approach to reporting and how we use data within LBCM, and we're looking to welcome a Data Analyst Apprentice within our Chief Operating Office to help us do this. Using new technologies available to us we can now automate Management Information and provide deeper client and operational analytics to empower data informed decision making. Data is a key part of what we do, and you'll be in the forefront of new, exciting functionality we’re launching across the entity!

Within this role learn best practices of:

  • Working with stakeholders on requirements and designing sketches
  • Using excel & VBA to automate tasks
  • Utilising Python to manipulate data, understand relationships & machine learning
  • Data warehousing and extraction using SQL
  • Redefining and creating dashboards using Tableau to bring stories to life

About the apprenticeship

This 18-month Programme seeks to develop the skills and knowledge required to build confident and capable Data Analyst professionals. As an apprentice on the Programme, you’ll gain valuable work experience and on-the-job training. We’ll support you in the development of your technical skills (including MS Office, Microsoft SQL Server, Python and Tableau) in parallel with the interpersonal skills needed to thrive within a nationally significant organisation.

On successful completion of all elements of the Programme, you'll earn a BCS Level 4 Diploma in Data Analysis Concepts and you’ll be officially recognised by the British Computer Society for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians. This registration will confirm SFIA level 3 professional competence.

What you’ll bring

Starting in June and based in London we're looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are looking to kick start their career in both data analytics and the financial services sector.

  • Do you have a Grade C or above in English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent)?
  • Have you achieved or predicted to achieve at least 96 UCAS points?
  • Are you passionate about an analytical subject such as maths, statistics, or computer programming?
  • You’ll be eager to learn and self-develop with a consistent record of achieving results (can be academic or personal)
  • You’ll also be a clear and effective communicator with the ability to work independently and exercise your own initiative

And in return…

We’ll offer you a competitive package which includes salary, a generous pension contribution, flex cash to spend on a host of benefits to suit your lifestyle and an attractive path of progression. We have a long track record in flexible working and we’re always open to new ways to improve our people’s work-life balance, therefore open to discussion on working patterns and working hours.

Lloyds Banking Group is committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to creating an inclusive workplace where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. Join us and be part of an inclusive, values-led culture passionate about making a difference. Whatever your dream, you can also expect excellent benefits, personal development, and a career that’s enriching and full of opportunity.

You will undertake an assessment centre as part of the selection process.
