Life may have had its interruptions recently, but the world still expects our flights to operate to the highest safety standards.

Join our three-year apprenticeship and you’ll earn your stripes working on real aircraft, in a real job from the beginning. You’ll go from fleet to fleet, working with different parts of the engineering team to adapt your knowhow and gain a complete understanding of your trade. Alternating the areas you improve in, helping your mentors with everything from routine servicing to minor repairs.

So is being flexible, as you’ll work from our Heathrow base at first – but this will be followed by the exciting opportunity to live away from home while studying at one of our off-site locations. In your first year, you’ll gain a Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering from City and Guilds. Then, over the course of your second and third years, you’ll earn a Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance and complete your CAA Part-66 A Licence qualification.

We’ll fund your studies. But to get accepted onto the programme, you need to achieve at least five GCSEs, including Maths, Science and English, in grades 9-4 (A*-C) with a minimum of an 5/6 (B) in Maths. And just as important, you can prove you have a real passion for engineering and an awareness of how Health and Safety works. You won’t be eligible to take part in the programme if you already hold an apprenticeship or higher qualification in engineering.
