Civil Engineering Exeter - Advanced Apprenticeship

As a civil engineering apprentice in our Local Government team based in Exeter, your role will be interesting and varied and could be with either the Bridges or the Highways team.  Your tasks could include assisting with delivery of structures projects, ranging from highway engineering design work, bridge inspections or designing of new structures. You might be planning and arranging site visits and inspection and assisting with drawing production using CAD and other specialist software. 

Training to be provided

You will attend Exeter College to study a Civil Engineering apprenticeship and gain a BTEC, as well as your EngTech status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship.

GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSEs including English, Maths, Science (Grade Level 5 or above - 6 in Maths) Essential

Future prospects

As this is a permanent position - after gaining your BTEC, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to go on to study a degree in Civil Engineering and gain IEng status, working towards gaining Chartered status, as well as the chance to study towards a Masters degree.
