Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship
An apprenticeship is available in the Norwich office, with a specific focus on valuation and consultancy in the commercial and development land sectors. You would be working with two of the directors in the team, Ciara Arundel and Vicki Hackett. The valuers sit within the development team and work closely with agency colleagues. We also work with our regional colleagues in the Cambridge and Chelmsford offices on larger projects.
The team works for a wide range of financial institutions, house builders, local authorities and private individuals. The Norwich team is looking to bill circa £1million this year.
An opportunity exists for an apprentice to work alongside Ciara and Vicki, initially supporting them with research and drafting reports, but moving on to get involved with the valuations and appraisals over time. The individual would need to develop an in-depth understanding of the commercial and development property markets, planning legislation and the valuation software packages that we use. The local valuation team has a market leading position and we need assistance from an individual who recognizes the importance of maintaining this.
Day to day work would include inspection and measurement of buildings and land, research into planning and legal matters, analysis of leases, comparables searches, producing annotated maps, drafting reports and preparing valuation inputs.
The long term potential is for that individual to become an RICS Registered Valuer themselves, having developed their skills working under two market leading individuals within the development team. The individual would be client facing over time and therefore communication and interpersonal skills are very important. An outgoing, sociable and presentable individual is required. They need to be proactive, inquisitive and confident.
