Engineer Level 3 Apprenticeship - St. Ives

 Duties to include:

  • Work alongside your HSS colleagues whilst learning on the job
  • Routine service and maintenance of all hire equipment and products under the guidance of the Regional Engineering Manager or mentor
  • Liaise with the Regional Engineering Manager to ensure cost effective repairs
  • Liaise with Regional Engineering Manager to estimate and advise on equipment repair costs also providing recommendations regarding write off, damage and recharge to customers
  • Carry out refurbishment of equipment and products where necessary
  • Ensure service records are maintained and updated and daily worksheets are populated
  • Complete statutory inspections when required under the supervision of the Workshop Manager or Mentor
  • Adhere to company guidelines on Health & Safety at Work
  • Complete statutory inspections when required under the supervision of the Workshop Manager or Mentor
  • Adhere to damage process, ensure product damage is highlighted
  • Represent the company and values ("HSSness") of the business and portray a professional and business-like image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work

Training to be provided

Engineering Technician standard.

  • Reaseheath Training will be the apprenticeship provider for this Level 3 apprenticeship
  • The employer will give guidance and support throughout
  • Off-the-job training must make up at least 20% of the apprentice’s contracted hours, over the total duration of the apprentice’s planned training period
  • This Standard apprenticeship may include Functional Skills in maths, English & ICT

Desired qualifications

Maths and English GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) would be an advantage, however not essential as functional skills are offered as part of the Apprenticeship 

Future prospects

Once qualified the Apprentice can go into Mechanical Engineering careers.

Our Apprentices have gone onto be fully qualified fitters.
