IT Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship

Airband are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual who is looking to start a career in IT.

The roles and responsibilities of this role, include but are not limited to:

  • To install, monitor and service Airband’s wireless network
  • Set up workstations with computers and other office devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse's, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
  • Build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks
  • Optimise the role of technology on business sustainability
  • Always being prepared to respond to issues

Training to be provided

  • Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprentice qualification together with on-site training by the employer
  • For those starting at Advanced (Level 3), the expected duration would be eighteen months. There is an opportunity to progress on to the Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) and ultimately on to a Degree Apprenticeship

  • KM3 Cloud Services
  • KM4 Coding and Logic
  • KM5 Business Process
  • MTA Networking

Desired skills

  • Previous Knowledge in IT- GCSE or BTEC/A LEVEL in IT subject 
  • Knowledge of IT hardware 
  • Interest of networking
  • Experience of Troubleshooting is desirable 
  • Good communication skills

  • Hardworking and motivated 
  • Can do attitude and willing to learn
  • Work as part of a team and off their own initiative
  • Proactive 

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE in English and maths Grade C/4, equivalent and above 
  • BTEC OR A Level in IT related subject
