Commis Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To work towards successful completion of Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard, and associated qualifications required to achieve apprenticeship framework
  • Learning different procedures of food preparation
  • Prepare ingredients for dishes upon the instruction of the chef
  • Make sure the food supplies are stored properly and used resourcefully
  • Make sure that recipes are followed correctly during food preparation and cooking time
  • Completing necessary paperwork
  • Ordering stock and ensuring food is correctly rotated in refrigerators
  • Ensure high standards of kitchen hygiene at all times
  • Reviewing menus and learning new recipes
  • To be responsible for receiving, storage and stocktaking of goods
  • To ensure that all areas are maintained in line with health and hygiene regulations
  • To actively market and promote the refectories facilities at all times
  • To provide a positive experience for internal and external customers
  • To assist in all activities internal and external as required to help maximise income
  • To carry out administrative duties as required
  • To participate in the College’s Staff Review and Development Scheme
  • To carry out any other duties as required
  • To take a lead in creating a positive, inclusive ethos that challenges discrimination and promotes equality and diversity
