Equine Groom Level 2 Apprenticeship - Diamond Equestrian

Duties will include:

  • Grooming
  • Mucking out
  • Trimming
  • Plaiting
  • Lungeing
  • Health care
  • Travelling
  • Feeding
  • Grooming at competitions / riding

Training to be provided

  • Level 2 - Equine Groom standard
  • Functional Skills if required 

Desired skills

It would be advantageous to have some previous experience with horses.

Future prospects

Progression to Advanced Apprenticeship in Horse Care and Management - Level 3 Senior Equine Groom.

Things to consider

You will be working outside and often at weekends. Working with horses can be physically demanding so a level of fitness is required.

The hours of work will be agreed with the employer and the weekly pay will be in accordance with the hours worked. You may be asked to start early e.g. 7.00am or finish late e.g. 7.00pm and some weekend work being involved, but this will be agreed with the employer

World class training and online learning available for all apprentices.

International level yards in show jumping, eventing and dressage.

SCT works throughout the East Midlands and Yorkshire, with employers in riding schools, livery yards, competition yards up to international level.


Diamond Equestrian is ran by Kim and her family, I (Kim) have been riding for 32 years and have been working with them for 30 years, professionally making this my living for 17 years now, whilst studying for 2 equine degrees. 

I teach, train, school, back and break, competition ride, freelance groom and run local shows in Thurlaston. Please look at 'Kyms Equip services' to see if there is anything I can offer you. 

Every horse is treated as an individual and high standards of care & attention are guaranteed - 24/7. 5* Livery care from either myself or my staff.

Aimed mainly at the competition or pleasure horse and rider. 

Vacancies for DIY assisted / part / full / competition / hunter / holiday / selling or schooling livery on a private yard. Your horse is looked after exactly the way you wish.
