Cyber Security Technologist Level 4 Apprenticeship

Salary: £17,017

Our two year Cyber Security Technologist apprenticeship is available in our Manchester office. During your apprenticeship, you’ll help to detect and defend against cyber threats. You’ll also develop an understanding of fundamental cyber security theory, techniques, risk analysis and law.

You’ll focus on the theory, but more importantly, you’ll get real world experience with practical, hands-on learning. You’ll also learn a lot about teamwork and be at the cutting edge of modern cyber security. At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have a valuable industry-accredited qualification in cyber security.

You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks including:

  • Assisting with our Cyber Threat Intelligence capability to pro-actively detect malicious activity and cyber-risk
  • Helping with the development of policies and guides
  • Assisting with security training and awareness, including phishing simulation testing
  • Conducting threat assessments and penetration tests
  • Cyber-risk management work.

What Will I Study?

Estio Training will deliver the academic part of the apprenticeship. You’ll spend four days a week working on site with us and one day a week in training, building on your skills and knowledge. Throughout the year you’ll receive regular one-to-one visits in the workplace by a trained assessor.

You’ll learn about a variety of topics including an introduction to cyber security, network principles, security case development and design good practice.

What Qualification Will I Get?

When you finish your apprenticeship, you’ll receive a BCS Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist qualification.

What Are The Entry Requirements?

You’ll need 5 GCSEs at grade A* to C, specifically Maths and English. If using the numbered grading system, you’ll need 5 GCSEs at grade 9 – 4. You’ll also need three A Levels Grade A* – C in any subject.

What Can I Do After My Apprenticeship?

Your Level 4 apprenticeship enables you to move into a number of IT roles. You may also choose a more specialised position in our leading cybersecurity team or wider IT team.
