Placement Overview

As an HR apprentice within BBC you will build a fundamental understanding of HR Operations and Administration supporting all BBC departments including: TV, Radio, Online, and Audience Research.

Not only will you learn from our industry experts, you will also work towards an industry-recognised apprenticeship delivered by our training partner, Arch Apprenticeships.

As part of our HR team you will provide HR advisory and support services to our workforce, interacting with employees and problem solving/escalating queries where necessary. You will provide a transactional & administrative service to the BBC, following our pre-defined processes. You will receive full training on the BBC systems to help you deliver an excellent service to our workforce.

Following the successful completion of your apprentice, you will become a permanent member of our Birmingham HR team.

Who Are You?

You will:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be aged 18 or over by the time the scheme starts in September 2020
  • At least 5 GSCE’s including Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Have an interest and passion for developing a career in HR
  • Have great communication skills and thrive when working in a team.
  • Be an organised self-starter who can manage their own workload.
  • Enjoy solving problems and suggesting new ideas.
  • Able to work flexibly with a focus on meeting deadlines and high standards.
  • Have a good eye for detail.
  • Have excellent numeracy skills and be able to work with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Enjoy solving problems and offering ideas and suggestions for improvement.
