Finance Apprenticeship Programme
Immediate OR September 2020 start
Want to get your career off to a flying start? The sky’s the limit with TUI. We’re the world's number one tourism business, operating in around 180 destinations worldwide, which means limitless global opportunities for you and your future.
As an apprentice in our Finance team, you’ll spend three invaluable years working right at the heart of our business – with real responsibilities, and the chance to work on real projects. You’ll gain a unique insight into our exciting and dynamic industry, with exposure to many other functional areas and senior colleagues, as well as the opportunity to enhance your professional skills through an extensive and tailored programme of learning and development. You’ll have lots of fun during your time with us, and we’ll ensure you get the support you need every step of the way.
Our Finance Apprenticeship Programme is an exciting opportunity to gain a professional accounting qualification (AAT), whilst developing a rewarding career in our Finance team. The programme involves three years of study to become AAT-qualified through two apprenticeships: Level 3 Assistant Accountant and Level 4 Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician, all the while being paid in a full time permanent finance role.
And, when you join our Finance Apprenticeship Programme, you’ll be joining TUI as a permanent colleague – moving into a role with one of the teams you’ve worked with during the programme once you’ve finished your rotations, where you’ll have the opportunity to continue your studies to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant.
What you will be doing
From leading our planning cycle, to pricing our holidays, recording and reporting our customer’s revenue, and making and recording the payments we make to our thousands of suppliers across the world (and much, much more!), our finance teams play a crucial role in TUI’s success. We pride ourselves on partnering with the business, and you’ll gain first-hand insight into how our dynamic business operates.
During the three-year programme, you’ll have the opportunity to experience two or three roles supporting different areas of finance whilst you work towards a professional accounting qualification such as AAT. You’ll support a number of important roles within key areas of our department, where you’ll get the chance to roll up your sleeves up and get really stuck in.
You’ll support the team in performing the core tasks which underpin all of the work of the finance team – from learning about debits and credits, posting journals into the finance system, reconciling balance sheets, reporting, analysis, and more. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with some project work.
With TUI UK operating a fleet of almost 70 aircraft, welcoming customers into more than 600 shops on the UK’s high streets and providing great holidays to 6 million customers a year, we have a wide variety of roles available supporting the accounting teams in our airline, retail business or tour operator. You might have a head office focus by supporting the overheads team, or maybe a really specialist role such as tax, for example. Whichever role you find yourself in, it will provide a solid basis for your accounting career, and you’ll operate in at least two of these whilst on the programme.
What we are looking for
Our Finance Apprenticeship Programme is suitable for anyone without a degree. Perfect for those who have recently completed or are in the final year of their A Level or college studies and don’t fancy going down the university route.
We're looking for agile-minded, innovative thinkers, who are keen to learn and take on new challenges. Those who have a flair for collaborating with others, a natural drive for results, and are able to think strategically about the business. Adaptable individuals with a talent for thinking analytically, and a focus on providing unrivalled service to our customers.
You’ll also have a passion for finance and a commitment to gaining your AAT qualification, as well an interest in the travel industry.
