What you'll be doing

As an Apprentice Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of plants and equipment found throughout the engineering industry. In the course of your career you’ll typically move between industry sectors.

Depending which sector you’re working in there may be subtle differences in terms of the composition and application of the plant and equipment. However, the fundamental principles of operation will be the same in each.

Training & Support

Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as first principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment, relevant industry health and safety standards and environmental and regulatory requirements. You’ll also learn a range of relevant engineering theories and principles.

Entry Requirements

To join our Apprentice Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 programme you’ll need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths. However your Maths GCSE MUST BE at grade 6 (B or above). Unless you’re seeking a desk-based role, you’ll also need a full driving licence with no more than six points.
