For the third year in a row, Lloyds Bank Plc is looking to hire driven apprentices in its Commercial Banking Markets (CB Markets) division. This is your opportunity to join a pioneering front office apprenticeship programme and to contribute in helping our customers achieve their ambitions.

CB Markets works across Lloyds Commercial Banking to ensure a comprehensive approach to managing the financing needs of the bank’s clients and their associated market risk management. The business consists of circa 500 colleagues working internationally across London, New York and Singapore with coverage in the UK across 7 offices regionally.

CB Markets consists of financing departments including Loan and Bond financing teams as well as risk management departments including Sales, Trading and Client functions delivering risk solutions for our clients.

Job Description

CB Markets Apprenticeship Programme

The CB Markets apprenticeship programme is a higher apprentice programme providing a fully paid level 6 professional qualification over a minimum 3-year duration as well as an invaluable professional experience in very exciting roles.

Over the duration of the programme, apprentices will have the opportunity to rotate across the Markets division and the wider Commercial Banking division in order to build a solid knowledge of Financing and Risk Management activities and to experience working with various teams. Your learning and development will be supported by a structured training programme. At the end of their third year, Apprentices will be supported in finding their permanent team according to their preference and performance.

Apprenticeship programme

Successful candidates will follow the Level 6 Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship over 3 years. As part of the successful completion of the programme, apprentices will be required to pass a professional qualification in relation to this apprenticeship.

Key Attributes

Applicants should hold a grade C or above in English Language and Maths GCSE and have achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum of 112 UCAS points in subjects including atincluding at least one STEM subject (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Qualifications equivalent to GCSE and A-Levels will be considered.

In addition to your academic achievements, you should also demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Eagerness to learn and self-develop
  • Logical thinker
  • Proven track record of achieving results (can be academic or personal)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Terms of the role

Start date: September 2019

Duration: A minimum of 3 years until full completion of the professional qualification

Location: London with the flexibility to cover our regional hubs (Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol) subject to agreement between both parties

Benefits: Starting salary of £ 24,750 with an attractive path of progression, eligibility to a bonus scheme, pension plan and medical cover

Agile working options: Depending on the rotations undertaken over the duration of the Apprenticeship, agile working options can be considered
