Why did you decide to join Siemens?

Siemens is a worldwide company, with many opportunities offered. It produces life changing products helping people throughout the community.

What area of Siemens do you work in and what does that area do?

Coil Wind, this is where the super conducting wires are wound on to the formers inside the superconducting magnet.

Can you summarise what your job role is?

Currently I am being trained in every department throughout the factory, to gain understanding and on job experience of the entire process of how to build a super conducting magnet.

What have been some of your biggest challenges?

To gain my distinction grades at college and to ensure my Siemens career will continue after my apprenticeship.

What skills do you need to have to be successful in your role?

To be able to perform and understand mechanical assembly methods and techniques, to every job I perform.

What has been the best thing about the graduate programme/ apprenticeship/internship year?

The whole experience, being shown and working on how to produce a super conducting magnet from start to finish. Also, my time at college was enjoyable learning many different engineering based topics.

How would you describe the culture/people at Siemens?

Everybody I have worked with so far throughout my time at Siemens have been very helpful and have trained and guided me through my programme, making it easier for me to gain I good understanding to the complete process

What kind of training/development have you received?

A complete overview of how to build a superconducting magnet from start to finish.

What are your future plans and how is Siemens supporting you with your career aspirations?

To continue with Siemens, expanding on experience and understanding and progressing through the many promotions/opportunities available throughout the company.

What would be your recommendation to someone considering applying to work at Siemens?

I would thoroughly recommend a career with Siemens; It’s a very well structured company with many opportunities and a very good training programme.

What makes your proud to work for Siemens?

The feeling that the products you are producing will help many people in life changing ways. Also the fact it is well known renowned Company.
