Level 3 Apprenticeship

When I left sixth form, I wanted to get into work and start earning but still continue to learn. The Airbus UK Apprenticeships offered an unrivalled opportunity to gain hands-on experience whilst working towards a number of qualifications. For me, the opportunity to gain experience in a range of departments whilst continuing to learn made the Apprenticeship stand out.

Whilst on the Apprenticeship Programme I have had the opportunity to work in different areas of the business and learn about a wide-range of departments. The different placements throughout the Apprenticeship have allowed me to build a really diverse network of colleagues. This is something that I would not have achieved had I not had the opportunity to experience so many different areas of the business.

I’ve enjoyed attending lectures from a range of exciting figure-heads who visit the company. For example, I recently had the opportunity to attend a lecture by a pilot who successfully managed to guide a flight down when the engines failed; I found this extremely interesting!

What has surprised me most about the opportunities on the Apprenticeship is some of the activities that I have been involved in. For example, in my first year on the programme I attended a team bonding opportunity in the Lake District. This was a great way to get to know the other Apprentices and build a really dynamic team.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know the other Apprentices that I work with and have made some really close friendships. The social aspect of work is important too and through various trips, team building activities and social events I have been able to become good friends with my colleagues!
