Leigh is on the Lloyd’s Apprentice Programme and is currently on his last rotation, with the Channel syndicate.
“When I finished school I knew I didn’t want to go to university, so I started looking into other options – not necessarily an apprenticeship though. Most people associate apprenticeships with plumbing or electrics, but my interest has always been in the financial industry. So when I found the Lloyd’s programme it seemed ideal for me – the perfect balance between university and work.
“I’m now on my last rotation of the programme, working as an underwriting assistant with the Channel syndicate. It’s a new syndicate, so it’s still a really small team. But that’s actually one of the things I love about it: because we’re such a tight-knit group I learn a lot from everyone and get maximum exposure to all the different aspects of the syndicate.”More Experiences
