Financial Ombudsman Service profile

About Financial Ombudsman Service

At the Financial Ombudsman Service we make a positive difference every day. We're an award-winning organisation offering a variety of apprenticeship opportunities, making it a great place to work.

We were set up by Parliament in 2001 to help sort out complaints between financial businesses and their customers. It’s free for consumers, and every year over 1 million people contact us for help with a complaint about a financial product or service.

Our apprentices work in a variety of areas, from supporting our case-handling teams and ombudsmen, to working with project managers, legal team and IT. With us, you’ll get practical, hands-on experience working in your chosen area and time to learn and achieve an industry recognised qualification.

You’ll join one of our professional teams, getting support and mentoring from your manager and a professionally recognised apprenticeship training provider. And you’ll be able to make use of the range of benefits we offer, like medical and dental insurance.

We’re passionate about diversity and inclusion, and want to attract and develop people from a wide range of backgrounds. At the end of their apprenticeship, some of our apprentices take their next career step by accepting longer-term roles with us. But whether staying on with us or making their next move, they’ve gained a set of skills and experience that will benefit them throughout their career.

Opportunities offered:

  • Level 2 Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship
  • Higher Level Apprenticeship
