  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is keeping the store at an exceptional level to cleanliness , Stacked up shelves and more importantly customer care. On a day-to-day basis I will be giving a job at the beginning of my shift wether that be working the produce,bread, chiller, ambient , carding the store which means I will get all the empty cardboard off the shelves and make it look nice and tidy and easier for customers to get there item. I will also be on tills which is putting the customers items through the scanner to buy there items and keep it at a consistent level of customer service and accuracy

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely learnt new skills and also developed existing skills while working at Aldi because every day is different. Newer skills I have learnt is speed while working at Aldi I thought I wasn't the quickest but as time went on you get into a rythem and a feel of the store and you do what comes natural to you. An existing skill of mine is customer service which I feel while working at Aldi has developed massively I have been good dealing with people in the past but in Aldi you get put.into situations and you come out stronger.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme I am on and the opportunity I have been giving to earn while I learn is great , the apprenticeship that I am skint makes me want to push on more and more to get that higher role, that's how this programme makes me feel.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • I feel massively valued at Aldi , I don't get treated any differently from anybody else working at the store. And the belief they have in me to be what I want to achieve to be is great helping me every step of the way.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well organised and structured, I have my apprenticeship assessor come into my store every 2 weeks to see how I am doing what targets I need to be hitting and what I have already completed and if I am every questioning my targets she is a phone call away to help me whenever I need it.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The amount of support is exceptional , she is there whenever I have a problem and doesnt make me feel like I am getting on her nerves. She is always telling me how well I am doing and what targets I need to hit to complete my first year and is helping me every step of the way

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Huge support from my employer he is always watching me and helping me improve and is always gives me positive feedback and I can speak to him if I am having any issues during my apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It meets my costs well I am a young man my only responsibility is work and getting my career in the right path I am learning everything I need to know and I am getting paid while doing it its a win win situation. I am also getting paid higher than the national apprenticeship wage with Aldi as an apprentice.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There is plenty of opportunities outside work , I get given my Rota 4 weeks in advance so I can plan ahead which is great.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend Aldi to a friend because they are a great team to work for the wage is great you meet new Friends while working there ,you get loads of support with your training they also keep there staff happy they are sympathetic to your needs wether that be personal or social great place to work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Give 100% in everything that you do and your customer service at an exceptional level. If you give everything to Aldi they will give everything to you .
