  • Since starting the apprenticeship I have passed two CII exams, enabling me to gain a qualification. Whilst training for these exams we had revision lessons which gave us greater confidence in the work place and in preparation for our exam. The internal training courses have been a great help as my confidence has increased greatly, in regards of public speaking and meeting this people/clients. Since working here I have developed many skills such as, public speaking, meeting with clients, time planning/organization and presentation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed the work I have been given however in the first half of my placement work was limited, so at times there was nothing to do. However, once I moved to a different team the work I was given enabled me to challenge myself and I felt like I was an actual member of the team, as I was given a specific role. The team I work with now are very friendly which, creates a very welcoming work environment. The company I work for now is a very relaxed environment and everyone is very welcoming and friendly, which enables us to have a laugh at times. Since moving to my underwriting placement I have found that the staff are much friendlier then at my broking placement. I feel that it is much more enjoyable at this placement as there are a lot of team outings which enable the team to bound.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Our salary is very good for our age. However with my travel costs, my salary wouldn't be livable on as I'm only left with £750 each month, this would then need to cover living costs, daily costs and social costs let alone taking into account location. If I was to live on my own my currently salary would just cover my travel and rent for a house.
