  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as an apprentice involves assisting engineers with daily tasks on projects. In my division it involves assisting engineers with gauging activities such as using bespoke software such as clear route.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Collaborating, communicating and working with and as a team, are key skills that I have developed, as well as working towards an nvq and a level 3 BTEC, and conducting vaarious internal courses as well.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working on modern day projects which will ultimately influence the lives of many, hopefully in a positive way.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Mott MacDonald?
  • I feel valued from my manager down to the working employees and the colleagues who I work with.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is very well organised, with clear support throughout the programme offered, as well as all of the training being planned and prepared.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive solid and sustained support from the lecturers at the College I attend on a weekly basis, where more support is often given if and when it is necessary.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive strong support from my employer, from my manager, training and development manager as well as the general employees.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My current living costs are low, so the salary/package meets my demands well.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • For those who wish to attend such events there are events held outside of work, for each division as a whole as well as for those who share specific interests and hobbies.

  • Yes

  • As it is a relaxed, friendly environment, which is a pleasure to work in.

  • Ensure that the person behind the CV, comes across to the interviewers. They are likely to be just as interested in you as the person as they are in your qualifications/experience.
