  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my role I track upcoming sales opportunities within our pipeline to ensure that we have enough deals to hit budget. I also ensure our sellers are creating consumption plans in order for our customers to actually use our products once they have been sold.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme. It's great that we get to perform our job role all year round rather than go to a classroom for some of each week. The varied roles also mean there's loads of opportunity to learn more and more about the company.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Microsoft?
  • I feel like Microsoft really value myself and the other apprentices here. We are treated the same as all other employees, unlike the stories you hear of apprentices just making tea and doing photocopying.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Within Microsoft the programme is organised brilliantly. We can have regular meetings with our HR team to see how we are progressing. As well as this we get to go to big company events and go on apprentice off-sites.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary easily meets my needs. I've recently moved into a house with some other Microsoft apprentices and my wage easily covers me for rent and food for the month...and of course there's some spare for when we go out!

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Outside of my job role there's loads of stretch projects to get involved in and if there's not one you like then you can always start your own. Outside work there's loads of social opportunities, the apprentices, the interns and the graduates all have a really close and strong community so you're never short of someone to hang out with.

  • 9. Would you recommend Microsoft to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's one of the biggest companies in the world and with this apprenticeship you have a chance to start a career at a much younger age than others.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Microsoft?
  • Be yourself! We try to stress that as much as possible because you're job role will be partially determined by your personality. Being yourself puts you in the best stead to get a job role that you'll love.
