  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work for National Grid on Gas Transmission. This is such a good job as it has a variety of task day to day. I dont turn up to work sat doing the same thing which i like, everyday is different. My responsibility at the moment is an apprentice therefore i try my hardest to get motivated and show that i am interested in what my colleague does. We maintain electricity working up to 400v and retest pressure transmitters and so on which is the instrumentation side of the job. I am an E&I apprentice which stance for 'Electrical and Instrumentation'.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programmes released are well layed out and easy to follow. The only problem with the programs are that they change constantly. The people who create the programs obviously has a good reason for the change but its hard to book holidays around this matter.

  • I get a lot of support and praise from my manager which is always good to hear. I try my hardest to shine and do all i can to help others. If i ask any questions to my manager he will always do his best to get back to me in the same day and always try to help as best as he can. His attitude towards me and other apprentices is excellant.
